In the very South of Chile STEMA finds excellent pastures for Wagyu breeding due to Chile’s geographic isolation: The Pacific Ocean in the West, the desert in the North and the Andes in the East.. This great climate diversity allows top conditions for Wagyu cattle in the cooler South and ideal conditions in the warm North for the growth of grains like corn, oats and wheat - the key-feeding material for Wagyu. STEMA selected Wagyu from Chile enters the feedlot weighing between 300 to 350 kg and an age between 12 and 14 months. STEMA Wagyu follows a balanced process of feeding to ensure each single animal increases weight according to age, while at the same time keeps them calm in stress free environment to obtain after at least 550 days in the feedlot a product of exceptional quality. STEAM Wagyu is free of hormones, antibiotics and animal protein (no animal by-products) A unique 4 days before cutting on-the-carcasse-aging-process guarantees outstanding enzymatic aroma development before packaging.
