CHILE

„Kintu“, Maule Valley, Chile

Challenged by the diversity of soil and climate conditions VIVE group’s „Wine Funnel“ established „Kintu“ meaning „fine view“ to work out the Chilean terroir, which is dominated by the long history of alluvial land with layers of clay and sandy loam. Formed by time over thousands of years those riverbeds where carrying down the water from the Andes into the near sea. It was only the empire of the Incas who set up still  serving drainage systems form the snow covered mountain peaks down to the most interesting spots for agriculture, which subsequently became fertile. Those rich soils in combination with the sunny climate of the 34th latitude and the cool winters in the Maule Valley lead to fragrant, well structured wines, where especially varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are captivating by dense and spicy red berry flavours and the Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay charm with vibrant straw colour with apple and banana aroma mixed tropical green fruits, deliciously crisp and fresh - fantastic value for money.
